Kid Rock Sets the Record Straight: No Lip Syncing at Halftime Show (2026)

Kid Rock Debunks Lip Sync Accusations with Behind-the-Scenes Video

In a 5-minute video released on Tuesday, Kid Rock addresses the controversy surrounding his performance at the Turning Point USA 'All American Halftime Show' and clarifies that he did not lip sync. The video, shared on social media, showcases Rock's collaboration with his DJ, Paradime, as they trade lyrics for the song 'Bawitdaba'.

"When we're rapping it, that song takes so much energy," Rock explains, demonstrating how he and Paradime take turns, with Paradime filling in words and phrases while Rock breathes or plays with his microphone. This technique allows Rock to maintain his energy and performance throughout the song.

The video reveals that the production crew, unfamiliar with the song, struggled to sync the audio and video. Paradime's lighting issues during the performance contributed to the mistaken belief that Rock was lip syncing. Rock expressed his concerns about the edit when he first saw it, acknowledging the crew's challenges but emphasizing their professionalism.

"No lip syncing here, no 'Tutti Frutti,'" Rock asserts, dismissing the fake news media's speculation and left-wing criticism. The 'All American Halftime Show' was organized as a counter to Bad Bunny's performance at the Super Bowl halftime, which faced right-wing backlash.

Following his performance, Kid Rock announced a tour in partnership with Ticketmaster, after his testimony regarding Ticketmaster fees before the Senate last month. He also released a cover of Cody Johnson's 'Til You Can't' on streaming platforms.
